2027 has 261 days from Monday to Friday. Take away the 7 national holidays that fall on one of them and 254 working days remain. On a six-day week, Monday to Saturday, there are 304. The town's patron saint removes one more day when it falls on a weekday: in Roma Santi Pietro e Paolo falls on a Tuesday and working days number 253, in Milano Sant'Ambrogio falls on a Tuesday and working days number 253, in Napoli San Gennaro falls on a Sunday and working days number 254. The shortest month is January with 19 days, because New Year's Day and Epiphany fall on weekdays; the longest reach 22. The total equals 2026 and is 5 days more than 2028. The count matters for day-rate contracts, deadlines in working days and project planning.

The patron saint and other variables
The count covers national holidays only. The patron saint's day applies in the town where you work, not where you live, and most collective agreements recognise it; if it falls on a Sunday or on another holiday it takes nothing away. In Rome, for instance, Saints Peter and Paul fall on 29 June, a Tuesday. Choose it in the "Your town" field under the extra options.
For shift work or reduced hours, a count in days is not enough: contractual hours matter. For deadlines, remember that Sundays are holidays under Law 260 of 1949, while Saturday is an ordinary weekday.
